Humperdinck Composer: Opera "Hansel and Gretel" Overture Arrangement: Simon Cox

hello everyone!

Please join us for your first moment in Japan!

The opera ``Hansel and Gretel'' composed by Humperdinck is a very popular work in Europe as a play for families to enjoy at Christmas.

Unlike the original Grimm fairy tale, in the opera both the father and mother are kind and the story has a happy ending.
The plot is about two brothers who get lost in the forest and become trapped in a candy house, and together they use their courage and wits to confront a witch.

Hansel and Gretel

Humperdinck, who composed the song, worked under Wagner, and the infinite melody typical of Wagner can be seen throughout the piece. However, the reason why this song is still loved today is probably due to Humperdinck's own bright and light charm.

Please enjoy the dazzling world of fairy tale opera!
