Istvn Kohn

Hungarian clarinet soloist. Born into a musical family, he started playing the clarinet with his father's instruction. At the age of 12, he entered the Bartok Conservatory (high school) special education course. While living in Hungary, he achieved the feat of winning and winning many international competitions. In July 2013, after graduating from the Liszt Conservatory, he moved to Japan. 2013 11th Tokyo Music Competition 1st Place
and Audience Award. Received the Hungarian Art Award "Junior Prima Award". 2015 4th Akiyoshidai Music Competition 1st Place and Yamaguchi Prefectural Governor's Award. Received 1st prize at the 26th Japan Woodwind Competition, Cosmos Award, Hyogo Prefectural Governor's Award, Asahi Shimbun Award, and Kobe Shimbun Award. Received 1st prize at the 84th Music Competition of Japan, the Iwatani Award (Audience Award), and the E. Nakamichi Award. Graduated from Tokyo College of Music in 2016. Received the 26th Aoyama Music Award in 2017. So far, New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra (Antonio Mendes), Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra (Toshiaki Umeda, Masahiko Enkoji, Kazumasa Watanabe), Kioi Sinfonietta (Kazuki Sawa), Jules Philharmonic Orchestra (Hungary: Karman Berkes), Tokyo In addition to co-performing a concerto with the College of Music Symphony Orchestra (Shigeo Genda) and developing solo recitals and chamber music activities, since 2014 he has expanded his activities as a composer. Currently a part-time lecturer at Tokyo College of Music.
