The quartet's rich sound and endless techniques
It was formed in 1982 by four American horn players who were active in prominent European orchestras. All members are winners of numerous international competitions. The quartet won first place in the 1989 Philip Jones International Brass Chamber Music Competition (Hungary), the 1991 Notamus International Chamber Music Competition (Belgium), and the 7th Tokyo International Chamber Music Competition in 1992. He has performed in Europe, Japan, Canada, and the United States, and has performed over 200 times. He performs a wide range of works, from original works for the American Horn Quartet, traditional classical works for the horn, to imaginative arrangements. The members have also won awards for their own arrangements and original compositions. He pursues the possibilities of horn music and contributes to its development. The aggressive activities of the American Horn Quartet have gained attention and popularity in the chamber music and brass worlds.
