Branimir Slokar, Trombone
Born in Maribor, Slovenia. After winning the Yugoslavian Music Competition, he decided to pursue a career as a musician. After graduating from the Ljubljana College of Music in 1969 with the highest honors, he entered the National Conservatoire of Paris and graduated at the top of his class in just one year. Starting with the 23rd Munich International Music Competition in 1974, he won numerous international competitions. He has performed as a soloist with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and others, and has been highly acclaimed for his extraordinary musicality on a large scale. For many years he taught at the Music University of Bern and was a professor at the Freiburg University of Music. Active solo activities in Europe, America, and Asia, and also serves as a judge at international competitions such as Munich and Geneva. He is highly regarded as one of the world's leading musicians.
