Ernst Ottensamer , clarinet
Born in Austria in 1955. In 1979, he became a member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna State Opera Orchestra, and since 1983 he has been active as solo principal. Since 1986, he has been teaching at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, and in 2000 he became a professor at the same university.
In addition to being active in ensembles such as the Wiener Virtuosen, the Vienna Wind Ensemble, and the Wiener Solisten Trio, he has also performed with the Alban Berg String Quartet, the Altis String Quartet, the Hugo Wolff String Quartet, and Sir Simon.・Co-starred with Rattle, André Previn, Daniel Barenboim, Oleg Meissenberg, Rudolf Buchbinder, Stefan Vlader, Julian Rachlin, Mischa Maisky, Edita Gruberova, Angelika Kirchschlager, Julian Banze, and others.
Wiener Philharmoniker, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra, Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra, Linz Bruckner Orchestra, Göchingen Choir, and guest performances with famous Philharmonic Orchestra in Japan, such as Zubin Mehta, Sandor Veeg, Helmut Rilling, Leopold・Collaborated with conductors such as Harger, Simone Young, Yutaka Sado and Sir Colin Davis. Released many CDs for both solo and chamber music.
In 2005, he formed the trio "Clarinotti" with his sons Daniel and Andreas. Many works have been composed for the three of them, and CDs have also been released, continuing a wide range of activities.
