Singphoniker

A prestigious German vocal ensemble consisting of 5 singers and a pianist for 30 years.

Gregorian chants create a mystical world, madrigals depict the lives of people in the 16th century, and Schubert, Mendelssohn, and Schumann overflow with boundless romance. And Simon & Garfunkel displays an astonishing versatility...

Her vocal art, which appeals to the audience with her exquisite harmonies and overwhelming power of expression, has been acclaimed at major music festivals around the world.

Thirty years ago, five talented singers and a pianist came together for a common purpose.

Each member, who is blessed with artistic talent, creates a one-of-a-kind vocal ensemble that offers a wide range of repertoire with the highest quality while making the most of the vocal quality as a soloist – this was the birth of Germany's prestigious "Singphoniker".

The only weapon they use is the quality of their voices... Singphoniker evokes a superb atmosphere and emotion that no other vocal ensemble can achieve.

Gregorian chant reproduces the mysterious and majestic medieval monastery, Renaissance madrigals reflect life in the 16th century, and Schubert, Mendelssohn, Schumann and others overflow with limitless romance. "The Roaring 1920s" is revived by The Comedian Harmonists' hit number, and Simon & Garfunkel vividly portrays the hippie craze of the 1960s and '70s. Modern folk music is sung with an unparalleled alluring and natural sound based on accurate interpretation, and it is no wonder that there is no end to the composers who provide works to Singphonikers.

In 1984 Enyot Schneider's "Variationen über die Liebe" became a hit, and in 2005 the world premiere of Wilfried Hiller's church opera "Augustine" was a great success.

Over the 30 years since its formation, it has performed at many concerts and major music festivals around the world, including Germany, Europe, Asia, and the United States. Her supreme maturity, versatility and flexibility, and the art of vocals that appeal to audiences continue to receive rave reviews.

From Medieval to Contemporary

Aiming for Homogeneous Vocal Art All works sung by Singphonikers are treated with the highest consistent quality.

However, there is no formality, and the program is composed in a "Singphonic style" seasoned by outstanding soloists who have exquisite and perfect balance. art.

More than 20 years ago, the original ``Singphoniker'' members from the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts were greatly influenced by the same German ``Comedian Harmonists'' that took the world by storm in the 1930s.

This tradition has been passed down to the current members, and their skillful programming and sincere performance have established a solid position as a prestigious German vocal ensemble, just like Comedian Harmonists. He has released over 30 CDs, all of which are highly acclaimed (cpo label). It is plainly wrong to assume that parody and mimicry are characteristic of the Singphonikers, just because they are in the tradition of the Comedian Harmonists.

The Singphoniker has also devoted considerable attention and precision to the study of 19th century choral works. He has also recorded works by Michael Haydn, Mendelssohn, Konradin Kreutzer, and Grieg. In particular, the complete men's chorus CD released in 1997, the 200th anniversary of Schubert's birth, has been highly acclaimed. Highly thematic programs are also highly evaluated, and include a wide variety of songs such as "Cheers Songs" collection, Christmas songs, Negro spirituals, and pop hits. Having studied under Goderhard Joppich, a leading figure in Gregorian chant, they are now active as a representative ensemble in this field.
