Mayumi Hama ,Marimba

Graduated from Toho Gakuen University Music Department Performance Department Percussion Department Marimba major at the top of the class. After completing the graduate school at the same university, studied abroad at the University of Michigan Percussion Department Graduate School.

1999, 2nd place at the 2nd World Marimba Competition.

He has performed with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and performed in the world premiere of the percussion opera “The Shattered Mirror” at the Percussive Arts Society Convention (Florida, USA). At the same Percussive Arts Society convention (Texas, USA), he participated in The New Music / Research Day “Time for Marimba” as one of the world's leading marine artists as an invited performer and panelist. Performed at the World Marimba Festival (Osaka), performed at The University of California Davis Percussion Festival (USA), and performed and masterclassed at Chiapas State University of Arts and Sciences (Mexico). Served as a jury member at the 1st Latin America Marimba Competition. Also performed at The Universal Marimba Festival (Belgium) and The Taipei International Percussion Convention (Taiwan) as a member of Marimba Ensemble Japan. While performing not only in Japan but also in the United States, Asia, and Europe, he also holds salon concerts at schools, public facilities, welfare facilities, hospitals, etc., which are accessible to a wide range of people. The solo CD "Soundscapes" released in the United States in 2000 has received high praise from various magazines. In 2010, the duo CD "The Breath of the Tree" was released.
