The title "Dan-tomo" is bestowed upon players who have served with distinction, including concertmasters with over a decade of service or individuals recognized for outstanding achievements by the orchestra.

Comprised primarily of NHK Symphony Orchestra members and active players, the ensemble also welcomes talented young musicians endorsed by symphony group members. Together, they curate a diverse repertoire, ranging from classical masterpieces to contemporary compositions, showcased through various programs such as "Music Appreciation Party" and "Talking Concert."
