NHK Symphony Danyu Orchestra

NHK Symphony Orchestra Dan-tomo

Established in 1982, the NHK Symphony Orchestra Dan-tomo is an esteemed ensemble comprising musicians who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and skill during their tenure with the NHK Symphony Orchestra. The title "Dan-tomo" is bestowed upon players who have served with distinction, including concertmasters with over a decade of service or individuals recognized for outstanding achievements by the orchestra.

Comprised primarily of NHK Symphony Orchestra members and active players, the ensemble also welcomes talented young musicians endorsed by symphony group members. Together, they curate a diverse repertoire, ranging from classical masterpieces to contemporary compositions, showcased through various programs such as "Music Appreciation Party" and "Talking Concert." These initiatives extend nationwide, enriching communities with the transcendent power of music and fostering deeper connections with audiences across Japan.
