Tadaaki Kato ,Trombone

 

Tadaaki Kato is a highly skilled trombonist with a passion for music education and performance.

Having graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Instrumental Music with a major in trombone, he has studied under esteemed mentors such as the late Naoyuki Shiraishi, the late Yukio Nagahama, Satoshi Kamiya, Ian Bousfield, Yoshiki Hakoyama, and Koichiro Yamamoto.

Throughout his career, he has showcased his talent in various musical settings, including orchestras, brass bands, studio work, and musicals. His dedication to his craft led him to serve as a part-time lecturer at the Tokyo University of the Arts Orchestral Research Department.

Currently, Tadaaki Kato is revered as a soloist and a member of the Trio “N” and brass quintet Buzz Five. He travels extensively across the country, presenting concerts and engaging in outreach activities to promote music appreciation.

His commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians is evident through his teaching endeavors. He has earned a reputation as a trusted band director in the field of brass bands and as a lecturer and coordinator at workshops focused on outreach programs.

In 2021, Tadaaki Kato made waves in the music scene by performing the Japan premiere of J. Francais Trombone Concerto as a soloist at the Sinfonietta Shizuoka regular performance.

He is a registered artist for the regional creation public hall music activation support project and a "Classical for Children" registered artist with the Sony Music Foundation.

Tadaaki Kato is a member of various ensembles, including Trio "N", Brass Quintet Buzz Five, Ensemble Dongfeng, The Best Bee-Brass in Japan, and Sinfonietta Shizuoka. Additionally, he serves as the director of the Ryutsu Keizai University brass band club.
