We are looking for about 5 people each day who can participate in the basic practice course held before the master class using Zoom.

・Participation fee 3,000 yen

* Those who have experience playing trumpet and can prepare their own instruments.

* Please submit a consent form for video appearance.

*You can watch the live broadcast of the master class from Zoom.

* After the live broadcast, you can also watch the missed broadcast from the general viewing page.

[Lecturer Introduction]

Reinhold Friedlich, Trumpet (Principal, Lucerne Festival Orchestra)

Born in Germany in 1958. Started playing the trumpet at the age of 7. Studied under Edward Tarr and Pierre Thibaud. In 1981 he won the German Music Competition, and in 1986 he won the second prize at the Munich International Competition. Since 1983 he has been principal virtuoso of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra. His repertoire and performance styles are extremely wide ranging from performances using original instruments such as baroque trumpets and key trumpets to contemporary pieces such as Berio and Zimmermann. Since 2003, he has performed as a soloist with the Berlin Baroque Solisten and other orchestras, as well as the principal player of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra.

In addition to giving master classes around the world, he also teaches at various places such as the Karlsruhe College of Music, and is also enthusiastic about teaching younger students.

Jeroen Berwaerts, Trumpet (Former Principal Trumpet of Hamburg North German Radio Symphony Orchestra)

Born in Belgium in 1975. The repertoire includes works from various periods and styles, from baroque to contemporary music and jazz. While working as a trumpet player, he completed his jazz vocal studies at the Royal Academy of Music in Ghent. He is a rare musician who freely manipulates unique combinations of trumpet and voice, classical music, jazz, and various other genres. Studied under the great trumpet master, Reinhold Friedrich. He won awards at the European Young Trumpeter Competition, the Prague Spring International Music Competition, and the Maurice André Trumpet Competition. He has been invited to music festivals around the world, including Belgium's Ars Musica, the Rheingau, and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. He has also performed with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, North German Radio Philharmonie Hanover, Munich Sinfoniker, Jeunesse Musicale World Orchestra, Flemish Symphony Orchestra, and others under the direction of Alan Gilbert and Jakob Kreizberg. In 2013, he performed the world premiere of Toshio Hosokawa's Trumpet Concerto "In the Fog" with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Jun Märkl at Suntory Hall. The work won the Otaka Prize and was revived in 2014 by the NHK Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo and by the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra of Hamburg under Matthias Pintscher in Kiel and Hamburg. From 1999 to 2014 he was principal trumpeter of the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra Hamburg. Since 2008, Professor at the University of Music, Theater and Media, Hannover.
