Tomoko Sawano (piano)
Living in Berlin, Germany. Born in Tokyo in 1969. Started playing the piano at the age of 3. In 1992, he won the 3rd prize at the Pitina Piano Competition, special grade, and studied under Katsuko Miura and Kazune Shimizu at the music school attached to the Tokyo College of Music, the attached music high school, and the same university. Moved to Germany in 1993 and studied under Reiner Becker at the University of the Arts Berlin (former West Berlin). In 1995, while still a student, she won a diploma at the Maria Canals International Piano Competition held in Barcelona, Spain.
He has been enthusiastically engaged in ensemble performances since he was in high school, and has accumulated practical experience. He has high ensemble ability that makes him feel as if he is one with his co-stars, flexibility that allows him to react instantly, and a solid musical outlook. There are countless offers for recitals, concert tours, CD recordings, etc. from famous performers all over the world.
Others include the Markneukirchen International Music Competition (Germany), the Munich International Competition (Germany), the Philip Jones International Competition (France), the International Trombone Festival (Denmark), the PMF Music Festival (Sapporo), the Mondñedo Workshop (Spain). ), Tubamania Festival (Thailand), etc., and has been invited as an official pianist to competitions and seminars around the world, and has won many “Best Pianist Awards” among them.
In addition, since 1998, he has been in charge of teaching brass players at the Berlin University of the Arts, the Berlin Academy of Music, and the Franz Liszt Conservatory (Weimar) as a wind instrument department correpetitor. Many of his students have won 1st prizes in international competitions, and his teaching skills have been highly evaluated.
