Born in Taiwan, Rose Shen began playing the violin at an early age and was one of the youngest students to be admitted to the National University of Singapore Yong Shu To Conservatory of Music at the age of 14, where she studied under Professor Zhou Cheng. I learned it originally. After earning a Bachelor of Music degree, he continued his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Professor David Takeno. Rose is currently pursuing a PhD at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Currently based in London, he has performed as a soloist with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, Russian State Symphony Orchestra, Concertgebouw, Carnegie Hall, Barbican Center (Wigmore Hall). In addition to this, he has given recitals in Europe, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan.

As a prize winner and finalist in numerous international competitions, he has won the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition, 3rd prize at the 6th Tchaikovsky International Competition for Young Musicians (2009), the Yong Shu To Conservatory Concerto Competition, Rothes International. Music Festival Competition (Greece), Gold Medal at the International Debussy Competition at the Mozarteum Salzburg, Max and Peggy Morgan Prize at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Silver Medal from a music-loving British company and most recently, the 1st Berlin The gold medal at the International Music Competition (2017) can be mentioned.
Mitsuko Uchida, artistic director of the Marlborough Music Festival in Vermont, USA, personally invited Rose, as well as Nobuko Imai, Jonathan Bis, Paul Lewis and Christoph Richter.

The instrument Rose Shen uses is a Bergonzi loaned from the Lin Collection.


Taiwanese violinist Rose Hsien, currently based in London, is building a strong international reputation as soloist, recitalist and chamber musician through distinctive and unusually mature performances across Europe, Asia and the United States with orchestras such as the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Prague Philharmonic and the Russian Symphony Orchestra and in venues including Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw, Rudolfinum's Dvorak Hall, the Barbican and Wigmore Hall.

A prize winner in the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition, the 6th International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians, the International Debussy-competition at the Salzburg Mozarteum and the 2017 1st Berliner International Music Competition, Rose was recently personally invited personally by pianist Mitsuko Uchida to participate in The prestigious Marlboro Festival alongside such musicians as violist Nobuko Imai, pianists Paul Lewis, Jonathan Biss and cellist Christoph Richter.

Engagements this season includes a worldwide recital tour involving concerts in the UK, US, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, with a particular highlight her debut 'Blue Rose' recital in Japan's famous Suntory Hall.

Born in Taiwan, Rose moved to Singapore at 14, she was admitted to the Bachelor's program of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore, studying with Prof Qian Zhou. She subsequently moved to London, to study with Prof At just 24 years of age, she is currently pursuing a PhD at the Royal Academy of Music.She plays on a Bergonzi violin, generously lent to her by the Rin Collection.
