Profile

Hideko Nagaoka, Violin
Born in Tokyo. Started playing the violin at the age of 4 under Izumi Nakamura. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts after attending Toho Gakuen's "Music Class for Children" and the High School Attached to Tokyo University of the Arts. He went on to the same graduate school and became a scholarship student of the Nomura Arts Foundation. Joined the chamber ensemble Tokyo Solisten. Acts as soloist and concert mistress. He has held 12 recitals in Tokyo so far. Both have been well received in specialized magazines such as Ongaku no Tomo. In addition to regularly continuing solo and chamber music concerts, he has participated in many concerts as a guest principal player of the orchestra. He continues his music activities in a wide range of genres such as studio recordings and live performances.
Currently the 1st violinist of the Cody String Quartet. Second violinist of the New Adonis String Quartet. He also teaches young artists at Atelier de Dalcroze in Tsukuba City. Studied under Tsuyoshi Hidaka, Takeo Inoue, F. Neanda, and Wanami. In 2012, he released the CD "Leclerc: Sonatas for Two Violins op.3" (Kojima recording) by his son Satoki Nagaoka.
