Chris Gekker
Distinguished professor of trumpet at the University of Maryland School of Music, USA. Born in Washington, DC, he graduated from the Eastman School of Music and the University of Maryland. He has studied with Emerson Head, Sidney Mear, Adele Sanchez and Gerard Schwartz.
He has performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and other places in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
After his performances of Bach's Christmas Oratorio and Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 at Carnegie Hall, The New York Times described his performance as "clear tones and perfect pitch" and called him a "brilliant virtuoso". rave reviews.
To date, Gecker has appeared as a soloist on over 30 recordings and over 100 concerts in chamber music, orchestra and jazz.
