Kosuke Akimoto (piano)
In 2018, as a pianist of the Aoi Trio, he became the first Japanese to win the Piano Trio Division at the 67th Munich International Music Competition. Currently, while performing in Japan and Europe, he is studying further in the doctoral course at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts and Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School of Music as an overseas music trainee of the Meiji Yasuda Quality of Life Cultural Foundation. .
So far, he has won the 2nd prize at the 2nd Rosario Marciano International Piano Competition and the special prize at the 10th Paderewski International Piano Competition. As a member of the Aoi Trio, they won the 28th Aoyama Music Award "Baroquesaal Award" and the 29th Nippon Steel Music Award.
He has given solo recitals and chamber music concerts in many cities in Japan and Europe, all of which have been well received. The CDs released so far include Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" by a piano duo with his teacher Hiroshi Arimori from Fontec, and two albums by the Aoi Trio from Meister Music. is also recommended as a special edition.
After graduating from the Hyogo Prefectural Nishinomiya High School Music Department, he completed the master's program at the Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Music, and Graduate School of Music, both at the top of his class, and also studied at the Suntory Hall Chamber Music Academy.
He has studied under Yuko Ogata, Yuuyo Katayama, Akira Aoi, and Hiroshi Arimori.
