Profile
Studied under Ms. Kazuko Yasukawa from the age of seven. Entered the university after attending the high school attached to Tokyo University of the Arts.In 1961, he entered the National Conservatoire de Paris as a French government scholarship student.
In 1964, he graduated from the same conservatory with a Premier Prix.
Since his debut recital in 1966, he has worked to popularize Japanese piano works and has commissioned many works.
In 1976, he received the Excellence Award at the Agency for Cultural Affairs Arts Festival in 1976 at a concert of Japanese works.
In 1986, he performed in concerts at the invitation of France and South Korea.
From 1981 to 1992, he served as a lecturer at the JML Seminar Yoshiro Irino Music Institute's Modern Piano Music Performance Course, training many contemporary music specialists.
April 2005 Held a recital in Vienna, Austria.
In 2007, he held a concert commemorating the 100th anniversary of his father, Kishio Hirao.
Around this time, he began researching and disseminating a completely new piano practice method incorporating the concept of sports training, which became a hot topic in magazines.
In 2009, Yamaha Music Media released a book with a DVD summarizing the content.
In May 2012, she was invited by a French broadcasting station to perform in a chamber music concert.
In 2013, a concert commemorating the 60th anniversary of the death of Kishio Hirao was held.
