At the age of 18, he entered the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where he studied under F. Berner, H. Bauer, and J. Rohm, members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra at the time.
Joined the Vienna Volksoper Orchestra in 1969 while still a student, joined the Vienna State Opera Orchestra in 1970, and became a member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna Court Orchestra.
In 1980, he became the music director of the Vienna Trumpet Choir, and in 1983, the Tokyo Trumpet Choir.In 1989, he established the Junge Blaser Philharmonie in Vienna, performing overseas and recording CDs as the Viennese brass band spread.
After retiring from the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, he continues to expand his activities as a conductor in Japanese professional orchestras, including teaching trumpet choirs and Viennese brass band in Japan.
