Profile

Masasi Kina
2005 Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Music. In May 2004, he received a diploma at the Markneukirchen International Competition in Germany. In 2010, he won the 2nd prize at the Japan Wind and Percussion Competition. In 2007, he won the 3rd prize at Concert Marronnier 21 (Tochigi Prefecture). In addition to co-performing a concerto with the University of the Arts Philharmonia, she appeared in the Yomiuri Rookie Concert in 2005. In 2016, she performed "Tuba Concerto" composed by E. Gregson at a regular concert at Okinawa Shogaku High School and Junior High School. In 2014, he performed at the ITEA International Tuba and Euphonium Association conference (Indiana, USA) as a member of the Phonium Tuba Collective and received favorable reviews. In addition to teaching solo, ensemble, and juniors, he also writes for "Band Journal" magazine. (One Foundation) Registered artist for the Regional Creation Public Hall Music Revitalization Project. So far, he has studied tuba under Yasuhiko Uesu and Eiichi Inagawa. Currently, he is a part-time lecturer at Saitama Prefectural Omiya Koryo High School and Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.
