Gen Matsuyama ,Piano

Graduated from Cologne University of Music, Germany.
At the same university, he studied piano and piano duo under Professor Alois Kontarski.
Studied chamber music with the members of the Amadeus String Quartet.
Not only in Japan, but also in Europe, the United States, China, Korea, etc., he has been actively performing.
He is often invited to perform at famous international music festivals around the world, as a judge in international piano competitions, and as a lecturer at international piano lessons.
In 2000, he was an artist overseas trainee dispatched by the Agency for Cultural Affairs and a visiting researcher at Humboldt University.
He also teaches at the Berlin University of the Arts.
With a wide repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary, his activities range from solo recitals to chamber music, CD recordings, FM appearances, and collaborations with orchestras.
In particular, he has been involved in the premiere performance of more than 300 works both in Japan and overseas, and is regularly invited to the Pan Music Festival (Korea) and the Aspecte Salzburg International Contemporary Music Festival (Austria) as a contemporary music player representing Japan. He is highly rated. In 2004, he formed the Klangform Berlin (a chamber orchestra of members of the Berliner Philharmoniker) with W. Fuchs (Cl.) and D. Linicker (Vc.), and in recent years he has been playing piano with Ichiro Nodaira.・Forming a duo and gaining popularity. Received the 28th Kenzo Nakajima Music Award (2010).
He has studied piano with Michio Kobayashi, Toyoaki Matsuura, Jun Toyama, and Tatiana Nikolaieva.
