This time we'd like to introduce trumpeter Alan Thomas!
Like all previous members, he has a distinguished career.
Principal Trumpeter, Royal Air Force Central Band
He is a former Principal Trumpet of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and was Principal Trumpet of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra from 2004 to 2013.
He has received numerous awards, including first place in the Shell/LSO Scholarship and first place in the brass section of the Royal Overseas League Competition.
In addition to Septura, he is currently also a member of Onyx Brass, one of the UK's leading brass chamber music groups.
He is Professor of Trumpet at the Royal College of Music, Lecturer in Trumpet at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, and Lecturer in Trumpet with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
Alan, who is Chief of the Royal Air Force Central Band, performed at the recent State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth and the Coronation of Charles.
