Fumiharu Sumitomo, pianoBorn in 1969. Graduated from Kunitachi College of Music Affiliated Music High School. Graduated from Kunitachi College of Music. Graduated from Kunitachi College of Music at the top of his class. Debuted on NHK-FM in 1991. Appeared in a newcomer concert sponsored by the Yomiuri Shimbun (at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan). In 1992, he was selected for the 5th International List Contest (Italy), and won the grand prize at the 11th Asahi Shimbun Contest for Newcomers. In 1992, he won the Kreutzer Prize and was invited as a pianist representing Japan to the 2nd Young Prague International Music Festival (Czech Republic). At the 69th Music Competition of Japan held in 2000, she was awarded the "Kinoshita Prize" as an outstanding performer in the vocal section.
Outside of classical music, he has performed with many actors such as Ran Otori, Misako Watanabe, Masaomi Kondo, and Kunio Murai, and is in charge of the music department at the annual summer workshop of the theater company "Black Tent" led by Haruhiko Saito. It is In 2003, he was in charge of the music for Naoko Ogigami's films "Barber Yoshino" and "Koi wa 5-7-5!".
In 2007, he released the CD "Oratio -Three Composers' Prayer-", which was introduced in various media, and was selected as a semi-selected album by the music magazine "Record Geijutsu". 2011 "Ikuji Sumitomo / Recital - Liszt: Two Legends, Ballad No. 2 in B Minor, Sonata in B Minor, etc." Released Oratio 2 -recital 2014- (both from Bishop Records).
He has studied under Mikio Ikezawa, Emiko Takei, Dang Thai Son, and the late Henriette Puig-Roger. While teaching piano at Kunitachi College of Music, he is also active in chorus singing. Full member of the All Japan Piano Teachers Association (PTINA).
