Profile

Ronald Barron

Born in 1946 in Pennsylvania, USA. He has been a member of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra since 1970, and has been the principal player of the Boston Pops Orchestra for 13 seasons. In 1974, he won the first prize at the Munich International Music Competition. Since 1975, he has been the principal player of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist, he has performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra, the Bavarian Symphony Orchestra, the New England Symphony Orchestra, and many others. He has released four solo CDs including "La Trombone Française". He has also served as a lecturer at the International Trombone Workshop, Keystone Brass Institute, Boston University, and Tanglewood Music Center.
